WELCOME TO OUR BLOG!
My name is Josh Hurley. My wife Jackie and I and our 3 girls live in Cascade, Idaho. We believe we were called to Cascade for one purpose: To help build the Body into the head who is Christ. Imagine what a great and incredible gift each of us have in working together to become ONE with God! His Spirit lives in us and actively guides our lives telling us whom to speak to, how to pray, when to move, and when to stay. Our job is to be obedient. If you are a believer in the Cascade area and want to know how you can contribute to the body that is being built here, please let us know! If you are interested in what is taking place TODAY in those who are alive in Christ in the Cascade area, check out www.lifeincascade.com

Wrestling against the purposes of God is a futile endeavor. But, understanding his purposes and the direction He is heading is an important task for the believer. To do that we must wrestle with the purposes of God. The distinction between `against` and `with` is an important understanding for your life today.

Minneapolis: A Kangaroo Court
Apr 6, 2021, 10:23 AM
As the Derek Chauvin trial grinds on, it is becoming more and more apparent that the prosecution only cares about pleasing the mob and not about justice. We sit idly by because we aren't the ones on trial...yet. What will you do when the mob comes for you?

Masks are Communism
Mar 15, 2021, 11:53 AM
The longer this goes on, the more frustrating it is to watch Americans model for the next generation how to be good servants. Communists in America are intent on setting the foundation that the majority needs always trump the rights of the individual. And, who defines the majority needs? The government of course.

The Future Church
Mar 8, 2021, 9:14 AM
The American Church, as we know it, has been radically transformed. We haven't experienced the full weight of the transformation that has taken place yet. But, like one left unsheltered in the cold, as the numbness wears off, the pain will set in. One of my personal goals is to help gradually warm the church up to this new reality.

We start every day with the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States. In this pledge, there are several key indicators of what makes America great. In the world we live in today, is any of it true, or merely a ritual?

A tale of two courts
Feb 7, 2021, 12:51 PM
Most of us continue to place our hope in our system of government to keep from falling into the abyss of a dictatorship, corporatocracy or communist ruling class. Our country's reliance on recent decisions by the supreme court indicate that these hopes are ill-placed and more must be done to change our course.

Time Magazine - Election Conspiracy Real
Feb 5, 2021, 12:45 PM
The idea that there was an election conspiracy is quickly moving away from mainstream and towards the "conspiracy theorist" column. What used to be a deeply held belief by a majority of conservatives is now relegated to back room whispers. The 'insurrection' had a huge part in making this happen. Here's what they don't want you openly talking about.

It`s the Gospel, stupid!
Feb 1, 2021, 10:43 AM
Across the years, much has been said and written about the church. Jesus? Not so much. We would much rather talk about us, than talk about Him. Do you know why? The world doesn't care when we talk about us. But, just try talking about Jesus and watch the response.

Why Fear Death?
Jan 21, 2021, 10:33 AM
To fear death is to limit God. From the very beginning God has been shaping death into life. So why do we fear death? Is it a lack of trust? Is our obsession with keeping our life an idol? I woke up with these thoughts and wrote the following poem.
