I believe that soon the sheep will learn to graze in their own pastures. The big beautiful buildings you call `the church` now will soon be a shell of their former selves. Will you recognize the switch?

A sheep was known for its obedience, so it was made a bellwether by the Shepherd. Eventually all the sheep found it easier to just follow the bellwether instead of knowing the Shepherd's voice, themselves. Then, disaster struck.

When God calls us to be obedient in something, it rarely makes sense. These words have driven me the last year of my life: There is obedience and disobedience, everything else is a game we play for people around us and that we believe we can play with God.

This is a message of hope for the bride of Christ and a little about my story to give some perspective. We aren't perfect yet, but we will be someday!

Let us be honest, we are all wrestling with how to act right now. In that wrestling, some of us are battling faith, fear, and how to view others that we don't agree with. From a faith perspective I believe God has something to say about all of it. He can remove this virus. But, he might not. So how do we decide which he is up to? Hopefully this well help.

Coronavirus is in full swing and we are all declaring, "Let`s be the church!" and "The church isn`t a building" and "Nobody can shut down the church!" But, do we really know what those things mean? Do we really know what they will cost us? We shouldn't be content to just sit in our pajamas today and watch a service and call it `church`. Now is the time to act! Hopefully this post helps you understand what that looks like.

Normally you go to bed thinking about sheep. This morning I woke up thinking about sheep. The Bible refers to us as sheep. The Bible refers to Jesus as the Shepherd. The Bible gives some people the task of shepherding. But, this job description is so limiting, it can't possibly refer to the job description we've given the people we are calling our spiritual shepherds (pastors) today. So what does it mean? And why do we think pastors are elevated above the sheep in some way?

Most Americans are so blessed with their day-to-day lives that we can get by on common sense. And, so we do. The problem with common sense is it buries the voice of God deep inside of us where we can legitimately claim we aren't sure if it is Him speaking or not. Do you wrestle with knowing the voice of God? I hope this article will help you draw closer to him!

Are you sick of the brokenness in Cascade? Do you want to see the power of the Holy Spirit flow through the Church the way we read about in Acts? Do you believe the Church is the answer? I do! In fact, I know she is. Holy Spirit filled Christ-followers are God's plan to reach Cascade. If not us, then who? I think we are close, we just need to get a few things right!

You are my witnesses declares the LORD. Can you believe that God chose us to be his witnesses? I'd say most of us have a hard time believing we are God's plan to reach the world. But he calls us his ambassadors. Ambassadors speak for the king! Do you?
