Wrestling against the purposes of God is a futile endeavor. But, understanding his purposes and the direction He is heading is an important task for the believer. To do that we must wrestle with the purposes of God. The distinction between `against` and `with` is an important understanding for your life today.

The American Church, as we know it, has been radically transformed. We haven't experienced the full weight of the transformation that has taken place yet. But, like one left unsheltered in the cold, as the numbness wears off, the pain will set in. One of my personal goals is to help gradually warm the church up to this new reality.

Most of us continue to place our hope in our system of government to keep from falling into the abyss of a dictatorship, corporatocracy or communist ruling class. Our country's reliance on recent decisions by the supreme court indicate that these hopes are ill-placed and more must be done to change our course.

Across the years, much has been said and written about the church. Jesus? Not so much. We would much rather talk about us, than talk about Him. Do you know why? The world doesn't care when we talk about us. But, just try talking about Jesus and watch the response.

To fear death is to limit God. From the very beginning God has been shaping death into life. So why do we fear death? Is it a lack of trust? Is our obsession with keeping our life an idol? I woke up with these thoughts and wrote the following poem.

Is the government requiring masks like the government requiring seat belts? I don't think so. Is there anything the government can force you to do that will help you live longer? I don't think so. Obedience to God is the only metric that will dictate the length of your life for which His perfect plan calls.

Published this on the podcast back in December and forgot to hit publish on the blog. With the Right to Life marches in the news, it is a good time to publish it here. In this episode we discuss today's Supreme Court hearing regarding Dobbs vs Jackson. In this case the Supreme Court is trying to decide whether or not they should overturn Roe v. Wade. What should Christians be doing during this time? What should our hope be from this case? Is there a great outcome for America in this?

If you were a disciple, how would you respond to Jesus spreading leprosy? Forcing you to go on scary boat rides? Telling you to not worry about food or clothing? Telling you not to wash your hands before you eat? Was Jesus a self-centered jerk?

All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. But, it can not just be one or two. It must be the collective whole of the saints. It must be the collective whole of the patriots. Social media is not the glue we think it is to accomplish this unity. It is actually the opposite.
